Yamamoto Neoprene Unlike most petroleum-based neoprene, Yamamoto's organic neoprene is environmentally friendly and consists of 99.7% of Yamamoto's proprietary calcium carbonate.

Yamamoto bio neoprene has a uniform closed cell structure which gives it superior qualities to other neoprenes. It is more water resistant, lighter, warmer, more stretchy and more resistant to water pressure. These characteristics are essential for the manufacture of a high quality wetsuit.

Yamamoto neoprene is known to cause fewer allergies than other conventional neoprenes. This is because most wetsuits on the market are made from petroleum-based neoprene. The process of this petrochemical neoprene may involve a vulcanisation accelerator called ethylene thiourea (ETU), which is itself classified as a reprotoxicant (causing reproductive disorders). Since Yamamoto neoprene is not derived from petroleum but from limestone, it is more friendly to humans and their skin. As a result, fewer allergies have been reported among users of this neoprene.
